Quartz tsl offers a remarkable design service which allows our clients to achieve complex and commercially viable solutions. Which are designed to be as highly manufacturable as possible. This is due to the integration of designers, procurement specialists and the PCB manufacturing and assembly engineers.

With all the parties in the design and manufacturing processes under one roof, possible design problems can be erased. While design innovations and opportunities can be enhanced to achieve the clients optimum solution.

Designs To be Manufactured by Quartz tsl.

If you are designing a PCB you wish Quartz tsl to manufacture please follow as close to the rules laid out below. These pointers are not set in stone but will make manufacture, testing and assembling far simpler and quicker.

PCB Layout

• Keep Surface mount on one side if possible (passives)
• Keep Surface mount IC's on same side as PTH components if possible
• Check pad outlines against the actual components manufacturers specifications. They can and do vary.
• Avoid legend marks under surface mount pads especially keep away from surface mount pads
• Use marks in copper under solder resist if legend s are required.
• Try and keep track and gap widths no less than 8 thou for both. If this is not possible please inform Quartz tsl
• If space is available please do not make tracks too thin when wider tracks will aid production and reduce pcb costs.
• If a board has a large ground copper area on one side please place cross hatching on opposite side to allow even copper plating for PTH PCB's
  

Fiducial Marks.

• Pick and place machines for surface mount require a minimum of two Fiducial marks at each corner of the board for optical correction.
• Components are placed with references to these marks.

Reflow Soldering .

• To eliminate dry joints and solder theft avoid two or more components sharing a common solder pad.
• Avoid via holes in or close to pads, or separate them with resist.
