Board Types Manufactured By Quartz tsl.
Fast Turnaround.
Quartz tsl can offer less than 5 days manufacturing time on printed circuit boards. The delivery we can offer our clients depends on the type of boards required and the requirements necessary for the board. For instance a straight forward plated through hole board without electronic testing can be manufactured in much less time compared to a multilayer with gold edge connectors and roving probe electronic testing. Therefore Quartz request our clients contact the sales department direct to ascertain requirements and probable delivery.

Materials we always have in stock
These are always available in 0.5 ounce or 1 ounce copper thickness. The finished copper thickness i.e. the amount of copper on the tracking surfaces when delivered to the customers is normally calculated as below:-
Base copper thickness + approx. 0.75 ounce.
Therefore a 0.5 ounce base would give a 1.25 ounce finished copper thickness. All Quartz tsl would ask is that clients indicate the finished copper thickness required and all manufacturing allowances will be made by us.
Materials.
Quartz tsl mainly uses FR4 material. Although if a client has a specific requirement please call sales to confirm we might use clients request.
Quartz tsl recommend that "track and gaps" are kept to a sensible minimum of 8 thou. If this is not possible then our production capabilities can accommodate variations.However the price will increase slightly due to the additional difficulties of manufacture imposed by narrower track or gap widths.
Quartz recommend the smallest finished hole size for a via hole should be kept to 0.6mm if possible. If this is not possible Quartz tsl can accommodate but as above the price will increase to reflect the extra difficulty of manufacture imposed by smaller finished hole size.
Please state all hole sizes as finished board hole sizes. Quartz tsl will work out the necessary drill bit size to achieve the clients requirements.
Usually Quartz tsl drill the clients specified plated through and multilayer finished hole size by adding 0.1mm to the drill diameter. So that when the clients drillred hole is plated. The extra plated copper thickness and the final PCB finish (most likely solder) still leave the hole at the clients specified diameter
Quartz tsl can offer full gold plating facilities for edge connectors and and gold touch pads for keypads. We require a value for the total approximate area of gold on a circuit this includes both sides of the boards or edge connectors. There are various types of gold plated application for different board requirements

Solder Masks ( solder resist ).
Photo-imageable solder mask (PI) is a tough, hard wearing, high definition ink used for surface mount applications and where fine resolutions are required. Quartz tsl now use different variations and colours of these inks as a matter of course.
Various coloured inks are available but the two most standard colours Quartz carry are:

Legend ( Silk Screen, Component Ident )
Quartz tsl carry two standard colours for notation printing. They are white and yellow. Most boards can be manufactured with either (green solder mask/white legend) or (green solder mask/yellow legend) or ( blue solder mask / yellow legend).
Standard Board Finish ,HAL or HASL ( Hot Air Solder Leveling ).
Quartz tsl's standard finish for PTH and Multilayer boards is now hot air level using a Lantronic 204s leveler. This finish has replaced reflow tin lead finishing. HAL is now the standard finish for most boards today and is mainly used in conjunction with surface mount components due to the flat finish which can be achieved with the use of high pressure compressed air. Which is blown at the PCB's as they are automatically lifted out of a very hot vat of solder.

Quartz tsl can offer the full services of bare board testing from comparative bare board testing using the golden board method , to small batch testing using Roving probe testing. If you require BBT please mention when giving details for quoting . As certain PCB's do not warrant testing due to simplicity while other PCB's need to testing as a matter of course due to complexity and value of components which will eventually be fitted.
