Our assembly departments (both conventional and surface mount) work to current IPC-A-610 American national standards institute protocols. Our services can offer single prototype assembly upto medium batch assembly. With also larger scheduled orders for assembly to be set up. Quartz's   Surface mount department uses a combination of semi automatic and high speed fully automatic surface mount placers. A decision is taken early on as to which combination of placement will be used factors contributing to this decision are quantities required, complexity of surface mount placement and delivery deadlines etc. Our automatic surface mount placers offer an ability to produce small to medium production runs, of surface mount placement with speed and efficiency.Our equipments speeds run from 2000 components per hour upto 14,000 components per hour. Components from 0402 to 20 mil pitch can be placed using on the fly video placement correction. High resolution cameras are mounted both on the placement head and in a separate fixed position to view and ensure high quality component placement and orientation on the PCB. The system offers full windows software off-line programming so that Quartz can program a clients project while another is being placed on the surface mount placers. Placement details can be entered easily into the software using the clients existing Gerber data for the PCB. This allows extremely fast and accurate set up times and allows Quartz more flexibility to meet clients needs. Also Quartz always prefers to create a surface mount solder paste stencil if possible. With full stock control and bill of materials software in place across the company network assembly jobs flow smoothly from kitting up to final inspection and finally dispatch. With years of experience and training in both the conventional and surface mount departments Quartz has the right highly qualified staff to achieve excellent results time and again. With the use of modern technology Quartz TSL catalogues board build features and assembly modifications via the use of an archived digital imagery store of digital photos taken of each product as and when needed. This digital archive allows Quartz to: Keep up to date image records of assemblies separate to paperwork and parts list. Store an image of the clients sample assembly even after the sample has been returned to the client. catalogue any changes made by the client. Allow assemblers a reminder of what is required of an assembly even after a lengthy gap from one batch to the next. Quartz TSL's assembly depts include full ESD electrostatic discharge protocols including heel grounders, wrist straps , fully dissipative mats and sensitive floor areas are covered in electro static dissipative liquids.
